Out of Iraq: LGBTI film screening
Join us at the Positive Living Centre for a screening of 'Out of Iraq'
‘Out of Iraq’, a documentary screened this year at the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, is the story of two Iraqi soldiers who fell in love at the height of the Iraq war. One is in the Iraqi army, the other is a translator for the American military. They spent years in a covert relationship, in a country where gay men are persecuted and killed.
The film is co-directed by Melbourne filmmaker Eva Orner, who made ‘Chasing Asylum’, the story of life in the Manus Island and Nauru detention centres.
Admission is free, however seats must be booked in advance.
